The Equality Compass Needs Your Help
Welcome to the beta launch of Equality Compass. We are looking for comments and feedback regarding the site before a full launch.
Initially the plan for this site was to track politicians' positions on male centric issues. It was soon apparent that most have no position on male issues, and the entire site would be empty. I spent a fair bit of time tracking down the government position on the education gender gap only to discover they have no position and are not even investigating the causes, let alone taking any action - a pattern is repeated across the every issue we cover.
It is up to us to show that we care, and to demonstrate that these issues matter.
We will generate a score for each political candidate, factoring in public statements, voting records and also (eventually) a survey sent to each one on their position on each issue. People will then sign up to the site and pledge their vote to whoever has the best score, which will be announced near the next relevant election. Hopefully this will encourage candidates to raise the issues we are concerned about in order to gain our support.
So please pledge your vote now and help to make a difference.
